MAJIPRENEURS Alliance

The Majipreneurs Alliance brings together the movers and shakers from the Ugandan WASH entrepreneurship ecosystem to tackle key barriers for thriving WASH enterprises and foster an enabling framework for impact-oriented WASH entrepreneurs. We are dedicated to facilitating a continuous process of collaboration and innovation, aimed at creating a supportive environment where WASH entrepreneurs can thrive in their different stages and make a meaningful impact for society and environment.

WHO are we? The Majipreneurs Alliance

We are a group of Ugandan and European organizations, which are strongly connected through collaboration for innovative and impactful WASH solutions.

Since 2017, 1.2 million people benefited from safe drinking water, sanitation and hygiene through our supported start-ups.
Viva con Agua is a global network of activists and organizations, including a thriving team in Kampala/ Uganda with the vision to activate ALL 4 WATER to turn WATER 4 ALL into reality. WASEU is a business association that supports small-scale local entrepreneurs to plan, build and sustain WASH businesses. It was founded in 2015 with the goal of advocating for an enabling environment for WASH entrepreneurs in Uganda.

WHY do we join forces? Our Majipreneurs Vision

Together we are united by the will to unleash the full potential of our shared Majipreneurs Vision:

Majipreneurs will provide affordable, safe and sustainable WASH products and services for millions more in Uganda and East Africa while also strengthening local capacity, ownership and employment.

HOW do we work? Our Majipreneurs Mision

Therefore, we together pursue a collective Majipreneurs Mission:

The Majipreneurs Alliance aims

  • to activate young talents for WASH Entrepreneurship,
  • to inspire the WASH Entrepreneurship Ecosystem to collaborate closer to solve the challenges for Majipreneurs on their path to scaling their impact,
  • to connect Majipreneurs and their supporting ecosystem for building new partnerships to create a promising pipeline of scaling WASH enterprises,
  • to transform the lives of many for the better by enabling Majipreneurs to provide affordable, safe and sustainable WASH products and services for millions.

WHAT do we do now? Our next Majipreneurs Steps

After having collaborated on different projects, programs and a prototypical Majipreneurs Summit in 2023, we decided to join forces long-term and – thanks to the generous support of the Conrad Hilton Foundation and the Viva con Agua Foundation – follow a long-term ecosystem-oriented approach.

We will:

  • to activate young talents for WASH Entrepreneurship,
  • attract young talents to participate in our annual Majipreneurs Hackathon prior to the Majipreneurs Summit,
  • provide support through later stages through additional programs, consulting and networking opportunities,
  • analyse challenges and discuss solutions for a variety of topics within the WASH sector with cross-sectoral contributors within thematic Majipreneurs Focal Groups,
  • ideate, test and scale new concepts and tools, which help to grow and scale the WASH Enterpreneurship Ecosystem and its sheroes and heroes, the Majipreneurs.
